I have an interesting problem. I went to check my oil and the entire dipstick tube came up with the dipstick. Apparently, it has rusted where it attaches to the block and has now separated. Has anyone replaced the dipstick tube? I've looked in my Haynes manual and there is nothing there. I have not had a chance to check it out because of the weather.

I've heard of this and if I recall it's kind a pain in the butt to change it.

Have you search the V10 forum over at ford-trucks.com? I'm pretty sure that's where it was discussed.

I have a 2000 5.4 and suffered the same fate. It is the worst PITA you will have to deal with. I ended up just taking it in and having someone take care of it. had to order part from Ford.

My was rusted but it got snapped off during tune up.
