I sure there are many reasons why the old forum was not good enough. I hope that there were more than "people won't have to register in two places anymore". I know that you have a fleet of fords. I'm sure this will simplify things for you. But I think one of the biggest benefits of the old site was the history of information. I know it is available to search, but if I reference a previous thread I will have to type a small novel to recap all of the previous posts! I wish it is posible to import the previous information.
I see that it will cost us $12 a year if we want to post html in our text. This means no pictures posted in a message. No pic's of our trucks in the left margin.
I'm sure in a year we will all forget that the old forum ever exisited, and I will still be wishing that I never wrote this rant after all of your hard work to improve things.
I'm just not one that enjoys change.

Actually, you can still post pictures in a posted message -- but you are correct, avatars are a part of "yearly membership".
Give it 1 month and you'll see why this new setup is better.

I had the same problem, in the "MY SFO" then in "Manage Account" and then "Biography" there is a box titled "Display Option" on the right hand side that gives you 3 choices...Display your real name, Display username, and a 3rd (I don't remember what it says). You have to select one of the "Username" spots so that will show up. It will replace your real name with your username. |
