I bought my 2005 Ex used about 2 years ago, and immediately noticed how horrible the ride was. (You can look for my past posts around that time asking about the problems I felt while driving.) It felt like the steering linkage had a couple of inches of play in it and the truck would just wander all over the road. After talking to some other folks on the forum here, I ordered and received a set of LandYot's Radius Rods this past winter, hoping that would help fix the problem. However, once I received them I was hesitant to install them myself because while I can weld, I'm a relative newbie at it and didn't have enough confidence in the strength of my welds to be welding stuff on my own vehicle. They sat around my garage for months until I finally decided that I had had enough of wrestling with my Ex and that it would be worth the seven hour drive to LandYot's place to have him install them for me. I drove up there Friday, he installed them Saturday, and I drove back Saturday afternoon/night. Let me tell you, what an amazing difference between the drive up and drive back. It was two hands on the wheel driving up, and two fingers driving back. The difference was night and day - I wish I had installed these two years ago when I first got the truck. As an added bonus, LandYot is a really nice guy and I enjoyed getting to meet him. All in all, without a doubt definitely worth the drive. I say this only because I wish someone would have slapped me two years ago and told me "put radius rods on your truck, idiot," but if you have an Ex, you definitely need to put a set of Radius Rods on it. You will be so glad you did.
Thanks,
Ted |

Ted - It was a pleasure meeting you, too. For others reading this, being a nice guy comes real easy when the other guy is super nice, too. Ted is a class act ... a good man ... but what grabs me is Ted's testimony. Like the others who have posted threads here and in other forums online, I am certain he is falling in love with his Excursion all over again.
Ted? Thank you for sharing your comments. While the pride I feel in this accomplishment is great, it pales to knowing that someone has found that their vehicle can be made to ride and handle like it ought to. I am truly glad to have been able to help. Drive safe and good luck to you!
