My '00X had no owners manual when I bought it. The manual online said the factory code for the keyless entry is in the manual in the glove box. Does anyone know how to find out the factory code? Do I have to contact a dealership for help?

I bought my X recently as well, used, and had the same problem. I suggest you make friends with a local dealer anyway, and at your next service ask them to look it up for you. My dealer didn't charge me, but maybe it was because they were doing me for $600+ on a brake job and 30k service!
They tried giving me a story about it taking them 30 minutes to look it up, and that normally they would bill for that but under the circumstances........blah blah blah.....

I have a used 2000 X and found the previous owner's name written in the service manual. A quick hunt on the internet gave me their phone number. I got their code for the door and haven't changed it. Maybe your dealer could ask the previous owners what code they used. |
