All,

It has been a while since I have been here. The wife rolled her 2002 4x4 Excursion three years ago nearly to the day and I have subsequently bought three more searching for the - right - replacement. One was two wheel drive and we drove it for six months until I finally found a 4x4...and went all the way to Buffalo (yes, New York) to get it. They are not kidding about road salt eating cars up there.

Finally, after three years, I found it. White, pristine, 46k miles. A guy in Argentina with a house in Dallas and another in Miami that literally put 5k a year on it decided to get something new. Can you believe that?

I spent so much replacing the oil pan, ball joints, shocks, etc., on the one from Buffalo I just could not stomach upgrading it, so it stayed stock. Now, I am getting ready to spiff the new one up. And yeah, the Buffalo one will be sold very soon. So, what can I use some help with? I have an interior lighting question.

I have the upgraded headlight and tail/brake light assemblies picked out but I was wondering - Have any of you done an LED upgrade for the dome and map lights in your ride? Those lights are not all that bright and I remember seeing Cabelas had the upgraded LED type listed for just a while and now they no longer have them. I have done some digging around on the net and may have some options with these guys http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Ffestoon.html%23rigidloop, but there is not any reason to reinvent the wheel if any of you have done it. Any suggestions?

Best Regards,

Phil

Yeah ... I can believe that. I bought my '05 4 years ago this month, and have only put 21K miles on it, and I'm currently thinking of getting something different ... just don't know what to get yet.

And I also wish to monitor this thread to see what bright ideas (pun intended) pop up.

I have looked into upgrading the interior lighting as well. RECON had available kits, but I am looking to upgrade to red led bulbs for at least the driver side lamp & a variation of white/blue lamps for the rest of the interior. I am defaulting to my guys at Audio 2000 in Tucson, AZ for this. My \\'03 Excursion had a custom A/V setup from it\\'s first owner, & these are the guys I trust to do high-quality professional work. I\\'m taking it up to them next Wednesday, so I\\'ll post results, costs & pics once they\\'re done.
