From what I have read, most people who install V code springs, gain around 1.5” of lift in the front.
My questions is, what is the amount of lift people have experienced in the rear after installing:
unmodified B code springs?
B code + one leaf?
B code + two leaves?
unmodified F code?
F code + one leaf?
For those who reply, please indicated what size block was used along with the spring installation.
If RAS was also part of the set up, please note that as well.
My desire is to install the V code springs on the front of my 2001 7.3l diesel Excursion,
and do what is required to end up with the rear sitting 1.5”, or so , above the front.
Thank you. |

I just finished swapping fronts and backs today after exhaustive research on the web. I did not buy springs from Ford because the dealers in our area seem to charge alot compared to what people say they are paying on some websites. I ordered from SD Springs the fronts43-818 capacity (2630). For the rears I ordered dually springs 43-1263 (3000) capacity. They told me dually springs were the same as F350 springs with more arch. I figured from what I had read this might save me from having to add taller blocks. I am totally happy with the results! I gained 2" front and back. Have 3" front travel to the snubber. Rears are not touching the overloads. Ride is vastly superior to the previous springs. Front height 39.5" rear height 41" even if it settles a little it will still be good. I run narrow 235-85-16 tires, about 30.5 inches tall. Total cost with shipping I think around $650.00. Spring were made in mexico by an american spring company. Delivery was fast (3 days). I hope this helps. |
