I have a non police 99 crown vic. Does anyone know how much work would be involved in putting a fuel injected 5.0L interceptor engine/trans combo from a 2000 model year into my 99 |

Go to a couple of Mustang forums to see what all is involved with swapping a new 5.0L into a 4.6L engine bay. The easiest way is to have a donor car to swap everything over to yours.
If you are talking about the older 5.0 from the 1990's, you will need to start with the donor car as well.
And a fairly big checkbook.

Thanks for the tip. Im looking to buy an engine/trans used from a guy who says the combo came out of a 2000 model year crown vic interceptor. Does anyone else have a 00 intercepter with a 5.0L? I thought they had 4.6L with a few mods, not a different engine all together. I have the 4.6L stock in currently. Which is in good strong condition, given having 218k mi on it. But the trans took a dump on me. Was originally just gonna rebuild or replace the trans but i figured if i could get this used combo in without too much hassle it would be better. |
