My name is David. I bought a new 2003 E250 Econoline cargo van in January. I am a professional musician and needed it to haul music equipment. It has no windows in the back. I have been working on the interior. It came with a steel "cage" behind the seats with a lockable door and bins and shelves in the back. I have since upholstered the cage, removed one of the cabinets and replaced it with a fold-out couch from a 1987 ford conversion van. I added a Nicro solar powered vent through a 3" hole I cut in the roof at the rear of the vehicle and insulated the roof with "shiney bubblewrap" for lack of a better name. I installed a 200 watt pioneer stereo in front with 4 speakers. My wife and I really enjoy this vehicle and I am constantly looking for ways to add convenience and "cool" to the van without attracting too much attention to the exterior. I have a tag on the front that says "generic van" and I hope to keep it fairly clean on the exterior, but I have already done some fixing up there. Custom vans (fullsize) don't seem to be as popular as they once were, and it has been hard to find custom stuff such as cold air intakes etc. for them. Would like to hear from anyone interested in vans. Thanks !!

Welcome to the SuperFord, David!

Would love to see pics of the "shiny bubblewrap".

Every year at the auto show here in Minneapolis they have a whole section of the floor dedicated to conversion vans. Maybe you're looking in the wrong area for parts.

What engine did ya get in the van?

Got the 4.6 Litre V8. Apparently this is a new offering in the E250 model. I am very happy so far with this engine. Good power, decent economy. I hope to improve on both with some aftermarket stuff. I am a computer programmer, but was a mechanic for 15 years before that, so I will probably do most of the work myself.
