I have a 1992 mercury topaz with a 2.3 four cylinder in it! You guys are going to think i'm crazy but I'd like to turbocharge it! It is my winter/work car and it just does'nt have enough power to suite me! Has any one tried adding forced induction to a naturally aspirated engine? The car is equipped with a mass-airflow sensor so if it will read the boost the fuel and ignition system modifications should be minimal! If any one has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
John

I don't think you're crazy. About four years ago, a friend of mine had an '88 Tempo, and wanted me to help him tune it up. Just to try and stump the parts store clerk, I asked for Split Fire plugs, Niehoff Ultra wires, and some kind of performance cap, rotor, and coil...I don't remember what brand. I thought he'd come back scratching his head saying that they didn't list any of those parts. I mean, who hops up a Tempo??? Much to my surprise, he came back with all of it. It cost my friend a bit more than stock parts, but he liked the boost it gave him!! Think about this...you think you're crazy for wanting to do this? What about the people who make the parts to do it!!!
