Hi,
I recently got an 88 Ford Escort GT. The 1.9L HO engine. It's tiny, but pretty cool for it's size
I am rebuilding the front end lower control arms and all that, it was quite badly worn.
What pleases me about this engine is Mass Air fuel injection, factory 4-2-1 headers, and 32 MPG in combination driving 1/2 town, 1/2 hwy - 60 miles a day 5 days a week, at 2.22 a gal, what a releif (My other vehicle is a lifted/geared/tired Bronco 351W!).
I'm looking for parts and peices to replace the outer body fairings, you know - super tuner looks. So far I can not find a dang thing, unless the car has 'rice' in it's nickname.
Anybody know of good sources for outter plastic? I have plenty of sources for the metal (local pull'n'save has over 40 escorts in the 85-89 range)!
Thanks!

I owned an '86 Ford Excort EXP. It had the 1.9L HO engine as well...doubt it was mass air back then, but I can't be certain. Very lightweight car made it fun to drive...couldn't afford a Mustang at the time so the EXP was the "next best thing" for me.
Anyway, this site may be of some help...although it's geared towards EXPs, maybe there's someone or some vendor who's posted in the forums that has some outer plastic for Escorts: http://www.fordexp.com

I have a 1990 Bronco with the 351W and MAP sensor, I also own a 1991 Bonneville with the mass air sensor. I thought that the type of sensor it has, which looks a lot like the one on the Pontiac must be mass air . It also has this really wierd airway 'vane' thing that opens and lets air through, what's up with that.
I haven't done any research on the engine yet as the car has a lot of electrical problems.
Maybe some of you can help with that. Symptoms are ... Headlights, domelite, turn signals and brake lites all work. Dash and running lights do not. Battery light is on almost all the time or flickers at low rpm, but the charging system is AOK (been starting and driving it for over 1 month, still works).
I have access to www.alldatadiy.com for the car, and have all the wiring diagrams. It's not a fuse problem. I have seen that the dash and running lites are in thier own wiring circuit and grounds, so I'll start there --- PITA.
Thanks...
