I recently bought a econoline and now it seems to be missing or stumbling at cruising speeds but its rather eratic. I pulled the engine cowl and looked around for obvious problems and couldn't see any. I started it up and noticed when I hit the gas there was a distinct air sucking noise at first and it didn't seem like it was from the front engine compartment intake. Then when it shut off I could hear air girgle, as the engine quit. Since this is my first 5.4, not sure if it;'s normal, but the missing and hesitation during acceleration and at speed is not. I do pull the trailer and it's really noticeable when I am cruising with the trailer. Any suggestions?? When it's not stumbling it runs good if that makes sense.
Oh yeah, it only has 30,000 miles on it
Thanks
Don
P.S It seems I posted this to the wrong thread. I was not familiar with site navigation Mods please this thread I reposted it to the engine section
thank you
