does anyone know if its worth it to cut springs on a 2000 p71? if youve done it let me know and i would also like to know the difficulty. ( im not a wiz but i know some) oh and has anyone tried coil tension clips? ive read a little about them and they kinda sound worth it to try (for the price) but sound dangerous. thanks!

Hi cvpip71y2k: (neighbor)

Not sure exactly what your shooting for with this description....
I am not the bone yard specialist around here...other probably will know exactly what you requested.

Can you describe why you want to "cut" the springs...
Basic function of the "clips"...?

Any image available...?

I realize this is a 2000 model...I just don't have any direct experience with that vintage...
Mine is 1991 Lincoln TC.. So is it something w/the air bags...etc...?

Cutting the springs only one(1) link will shorten them, but will increase the "hardness" of the spring. You will begin the feel EVERY bump in the road. Then you need to getting firmer shocks to cover up this harshness. Some people don't mind doing this.

The coil tension clips are junk. They will only make things worst. And if one ever decides to come off, you will in a world of hurt trying to drive a crooked car.

IMHO, only take one (1) full link off the spring and getting firmer shocks. I use AC/Delco shocks for the Police Interceptor (which are Chevy front and Dodge rear shocks), and these are pretty firm.
