I have a 95 Crown Vic that has issues in the passenger front door. The door lock will only manually lock when pushed down by hand and the door handle inside will only unlock it. It feels as if it is jammed. I don't know if this is in the automatic door lock or somewhere else.
I have replaced the door lock actuator and it worked great for a while then it quit work ing went to what is discribed above. The door unlock on that same door will not unlock anydoor except intermittently.
I am trying to see how to disconnect the lock switch on that side but unless you pull the contact pins on the bottom I can't see how to disconnect it.
Also we have replaced the door window motor assembly and it quit working.
Are these doors known for these kind of problems?
Blessings!

Not sure of any known issues with the doors, but with most vehicles with the master switch that can control all 4 doors you cannot disconnect them. If you do all of the other switches stop working as they all connect back to the master.
For the locks the first thing to check would be the rods inside the door that actuate the lock from the handle/lock on the outside, the lock actuator, and the door handle. They may just need a good lubing, maybe they are disconnected or even bent/broken. Also make sure your lock cylinder moves freely if not it can cause a ton of issues as the rods cannot move if the lock cylinder is jammed.
For the window the very first thing is to check that you are getting signal/power at the motor if not you have to trace it back. |

No known regular problems with the doors as you describe. It could well be a short in the control panel of the switch itself. Pull all the switches on each of the doors, remove the screws that hold the connectors to the switch, and clean those connectors with an eraser, alcohol, cotton swaps, cue tips, whatever, to clean all the old corrosion. Use dielectric paste on each contact before you plug them back together.
You could have a short between contacts from corrosion. This kind of problem is a PITA PERIOD. This would have enough electrical current flowing to NOT flip the switch but to overheat the motor (window motor and lock actuator).
Go to www.crownvic.net and do a search on locks.
