With the advent of cooler weather I have noticed that my 99 CV heat cools off after I drive for a while. Sitting in the driveway and for 15 min or so it is all toasty warm but then it gets cool. The temp gage shows the engine temp right where it should be. Funny thing is I can increase the temp (electronic temp control) and it heats up again but after a couple minutes cools off. I have read horror stories of blend motor door issues and I sincerely hope I don\\'t have to do that. I do not have any error codes on the electronic climate control.

I am overdue for a radiator flush could it be that? I'm hoping for anything but that damn door.

Thanks!!

The radiator flush is needed, but its not your problem. The Electronic a/c units have a sensor (and I don't know exactly where---you will have to research that) that occasionally goes bad. Do some googling for the electronic temperature control problems with your car. You should be able to lcoate where it is at to replace it.

Absolutely going to do the flush this weekend. I did a test and set the temp from 60 to 80 back to 60 and the temp went cold hot cold so I do think the door is working ok. I will research the sensor. Would be nice if just the flush worked but.......

Getting ready to do the flush and I noticed that the radiator hoses are not hot. The temp gauge shows the engine at normal operating temp but the hoses are cold. The recovery bottle is full but when I cracked the cap there was almost no pressure. I'm wondering t-stat or water pump? The weep hole on the pump is dry and I think the t-stat is only a couple of years old. I don't want to flush the system just to have to drain most of it out again.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
