hay everyone I have a 65 ford ranchero I\\\\\\\\'m restoring my alt. light is on I\\\\\\\\'ve installed new alt and voltage regulator. the plug running from the voltage regulator has a yellow wire with plug on it as soon as it leaves the regulator is not connected to anything can someone help me figure out where it goes. or what it is connected to. battery will not charge and car dies when neg. cable is removed. thank you in advance for your help

the yellow wire to vr on mine connects to 1 of the 4 teminals on vr then it has a lead from vr that plugs in to a small condenser ,looks like a points condenser you can google the info ,just ask google ,hope this helps |
