I recently acquired a 66 that's in pretty good shape mechanically. I plan to perform some limited restoration to make it a daily driver. My main goal is comfort and convenience without making irreversible modifications.
My first task is seating The bench seats are pretty mushy so that I sit pretty low. I'm considering replacing with new aftermarket buckets (with shoulder belts) but need to find a supplier that has brackets designed for a 66. Alternatively, I may just have the existing bench refurbished so that I don't sit so low. Still, I need to find a supplier for this.
Also, can anyone comment on the interchangeability of parts between years and models. I.e., could a mounting bracket for a 67 Ranchero work for my seating issue. |

Hi Greg, Your question all depends on one question? Do you want stock look, or modifed look? The best advice i have for you is 66-67 fairlane, comet/cyclone seat tracks are a sure fit. Personaly I like the factory bucket seat / consol look in 66-67. in doing that look dont forget about the steering colum as well. They are comfortable seats, and even if you have to recover them. Check out dearborn classics for a lot of interior packages. Hope this helps. Roy

Thanks for the info!
I guess I'd prefer to remain as close to stock as possible. My main concern is that I don't want to start drilling holes in the thing... I've been looking at dearborn classics per your suggestion but some of their descriptions are wanting. Guess I'll get on the phone to see if they can help me.
Have you any experience adding a 3 point restraint? I see there is a kit on dearborn...

66-67 falcon sport coupe seats also work in 66-67 rancheros.
i have a set of 66 falcon seats for my 67 ranchero.
no extra holes, drop em right in. dont forget the spacers for the rear of seat tracks.
