Hello all, they call me Biggy and new to the board. I drove from West Texas to Las Vegas and picked up my 1971 last weekend in two days (1900 miles). I\\\\'m getting too old for that. Anyway I want to restore and make a street rod out of her. It has the orginal 351C with a broken timing chain. I am pulling it and will rebuild later. I am going to put a crate engine in it. I want serious punch but daily driveable. Any suggestions? I am thinking 450-500 hp. Also, when I change the engine how can I order the correct headers?

Thanks,

Biggy

Hi, nice ride
don't kow how old you are, "long drive" anyway..
I hate to say thins but go for big CI. if you are serious. you can build a nice
351, if you had a 4v heads, 4bbl, etc:.
And you looking at buying a crate motor, so go big
either way your going to use gas, but I think the BB would actually be better as its less
work on the engine.
Which model Ranchero is it?
Are you also going to update the suspension, I hope you do...
