I was replacing my brakes (calipers rotors and pads) in the rear of my crown vic i was not able to pull off the rotor at first i assumed that was because of rust but after hitting it 100\\'s of times with a hammer i realized the parking brake was stopping it from pulling off so i used a puller and now the break sheild is split will this effect replacing the brake shoes? and is there something i can do so that i dont have to replace the brake sheid because that means removing the axle?

Are you replacing the e-brake parts too?
You may be able to smack it back relatively flat to keep it out of the way and not be a problem.
