I Have 2008 CVPI and due to rust i had to replace the fuel straps. i had everything set up but for some reason i could not get the stud to bite to the captured nut in the frame; I have ordered factory studs and some nuts for my car but i can not figure out how to get to captured nut ? I need it to finish my installation

You removed the old stud but can't get the new stud to thread in?
If need be, you can order new nuts.
