Who has done the lower front seat upgrade? The TSB for the 2005-2006 CV / Marquis lists 5W7Z-5462187-A shield, 3W7Z-5463226-AA steel seat cushion support (# is superseded now but can't find the new number) and 1W7Z-54603A06-AA springs. 6 springs are required.

I can't find a source for more springs. I did collect some data on this spring in an attempt to find an alternate part. Measured to 3 places with an uncalibrated caliper....
0.106" wire diameter
0.650" Coil O.D.
12-1/2 coils
2.523" inside end to end with no load (inside hook length)
Don't know the metallurgy but is magnetic as expected so not a high grade stainless...
extension spring with 0.400" hook gap
load testing: 1/2" extension at 40lbs
I am not sure of the max extension so I didn't try to load it to get 1" and my scale only goes to 50lbs anyway.

springfast.com has PN 318 and 319. PN 318 may be close enough.
Any other sources known?

Will this kit work for the passenger side too?

Anyone knows if this upgrade became standard in newer models? I may have to upgrade the 2010 as well if not corrected by then.

2006 Marquis
2010 Marquis
