Yesterday my 95 F-150 started puking tranny fluid out of the front seal. along with this malady it slips in 1st and I get a rattle from the tourqe converter area when in park or neutral, it also tries to stall out at lights..... I haven't torn into it yet but I'm guessing that my converter crapped out because I have 185,000 miles and a fairly new rebuilt tranny. sigh. do you think I can just replace the converter and seal or has this problem also grenaded my tranny?

well, I figured it out on my own. pulled the inspection plate and used a ratchet to shake the tourqe converter. it was loose so I tightend it up in a cross pattern the front seal still leaks but not too bad so I'll deal with it and let a shop fix it later. can't stand the idea of doin all that work layin on the ground. I suppose the moral of the story is that if you hear rocks bouncing in the area of the tourqe converter you gotta crawl uder there and tighten some nuts n bolts. Also keep in mind as an early indicator of this problem a binding starter.
