The E4-0D in my bronco is vibrating between 3rd and Overdrive. It's getting worse and i don't know what's causing it. Thanks in advance for any help.

sounds like torque converter clutch going bad.to check it,get the truck up to where it vibrates, try to hold that speed(keep the vibe going)lightly depress brake pedal with left foot(this electronicaly releases torque converter clutch)if vibe goes away then you have a bad converter

hope this helps, mike

Yup, I went out and tried it and while keeping the vibration going, as soon as i lightly depressed the brake pedal the vibration went away. Thanks, now all i've got to do is get my income tax refund so i can get another converter. $180 + fluids and filter. I'm doing the work myself. Thanks again. Don

just some advice from someone who has done hundreds of them,by a Ford reman.converter.that is all i have used in the last 11 years(except for the high performance)and have had 2 failures.previous to that,i was running 70% failure ratio on aftermarket rebuilts.

good luck,mike
