The Broncos were never made with the Powerstroke 7.3l option, the largest engine that was ever put into them is the 400M and that was back in 78-79, as for swapping one in, I'm guessing that you would need the frame perches off of a later model 92-97 F350 w/ 4X4 and the Powerstroke along with the transmission, either the E4OD, or the ZF 5 Speed, depending on what year Bronco that you are running will depend on the ease of the swap

Do I really need to swap the frame?
Will it fit if I remodel the mounts for the engine on my Broncoframe?
My Broncoīs eqipped with the E40D so I may not need to swap that one...
Isnīt it anyone in the great U.s of A that has made the change from 302 to 7.3psDiesel???

IN what country did the 1/2 ton, F150 get a powerstroke motor? or did Ford put some other diesel motor in export only F150's?

The E4OD in your bronco will not fit a PSD, you will need at a minimum the case and imput shaft... but I would bet there is more different than just that... Ofr ease of swap,, I would highly recomend finding a running F350 with the powertrain and running gear, shorten the frame, swap the Bronco sheet metal on to the frame...

Swaping a 7.3PSD into a late model bronco can be done,,, heck anything can be done,, but at what cost? and what do you get out of it..Short wheel base, tow vehicle, not worthy of towing what the powertrain is capable of......Very cool.. but

Well, what I will get out of it is:
Since my Bronc is registred as a truck in Sweden I will get:
*Lower tax
*Cheaper fuel
*Better fuel economy
And a damn good engine, if Iīll find one that is in good shape...

GOOD LUCK SWEDE?
My suggestion,
If you do build it, Make it kinda showy.
Your project is gonna be the first that I know of.
As far as experience goes its gonna be a doozy.
As far as cost, WOW, I hope you got some cash.
A PowerStroke isn't cheap and the mod's that you
face are going to rip holes in you pocket.
It will be cool but if money is one of your reasons
for this monsterous project you have better options
I'd fess up cash for gas and an EFI that would fit.
If I were you.

Just my opinion, Take it or leave it.
BUT!!! You better post some pictures if you build it.
I gotta see this if it happens.

Thats not dented, It's customized

No Iīm wrong, sorry all folks!!
Itīs the the 250 and 350 around here thats got the superb Power stroke...
Anyway Iīd bet I could get it in to my bronco if I had a Power stroke.
Think about what a lovely torque it would be, and not at least how cheap it would be to fill it up and to own it here in Sweden...

Our politics has a hate for all big trucks from overthere and tries to tax them away from the streets. To own a big rig with dieselengine is very expensive to tax for, but it has a little catch: if you rip out the rear seat in it and register it as a small Truck you will end up in the tab for big trucks such as freightliners, kenworths, volvos, scanias and such, and by then it will be a very light truck and you wonīt have too much weight to tax for...
On the other hand there is gasolinetrucks which consumes alot of gas and gas is very expensive too, but then you have alittle cheaper tax.
Itīs not easy to own and have interests in big american rigs when you live here, not if you wasnīt born with silverspoons in your pocket and got alot of dough...
