My cooling fan blade assy cracked so I purchased a new after market one on ebay. That's when some odd things happened. Everytime I pop the trunk or hood, the fan energizes a second or two. Opening the Keyless entry does the same. It is if as though the demand lighting-circuit wakes up and does this: (no key in Ign). I never hear the fan kick on when egine is hot, but if I turn the AC or Defrost on... fan kicks in as it should: short cycles though. I'm thinking the fan's relay is wired wrong? There is one small awg blk and two larger awg leads; red and blk. Any thoughts or pin point tests would be appreciated thanks.

I don't have issues with the cooling fan but I'd like to share the recent news with you guys. This may sound a bit odd but maybe you can inform your friends who owns a Kia Optima and Rondo. From what I read in the news, Kia has issued a recall of the 2006 to 2008 model year Optima and 2007 and 2008 Rondo over an airbag issue, comprising less than 150,000 automobiles. An airbag component is defective and the defect can cause the airbag in the steering wheel to fail to release in a crash. Source of article: Kia Optima and Rondo recalled for faulty airbags.
