I found this CrownVic.net website while trying to research this P71 I recently got. I dont know too much about Vics, but have been an avid car enthusiast for 20 years. Any suggestions on where to start? |

Pick a topic....do a search...start reading....
Next...line of some other reading materials...a database access from public library...find a year & model specific repair manual....
Then you'll become familiar w/your vehicle...prepared to repair it yourself or take it to an experienced mechanic/shop.... |

I learned from www.crownvic.net and www.p71interceptor.com as well as www.supermotors.net. Just start reading about a particular topic, and learn what you can. (Actually, I have about 12 websites all relating to the CVPI I use to learn from. But some are more general Ford forums.)
When you get ready for repairs (preventative or necessary), I use www.rockauto.com. I get better than local prices, even with the shipping, and definitely better than the dealer. But sometimes you have to bite the bullet and head to Ford. You might also try www.Fordparts.com to see how the assembly of the parts breakdown. (A secret! Sometimes you can find a dealer close by who is willing to give you a discount on parts.)
I look at my 1997 P71 as a "Super-duty Mustang GT with truck and limo parts attached". And when you start searching for parts, you'll find out why I say that.
