I do a lot of body swap's and found this information out after trying to do a Body swap on to a 1990 Bronco Ann. Edition with (351W, E40D Tran's & BW 1356 T-Case ).
You Must have one of these #'s (VIN # or the Calibration Code off the door Jam) to be able to get a New Computer or a Rebuilt one from a part store.
What I would like to do is start a collection of Calibration Codes for each year Bronco that came with a E40D Transmission in it for a referance later for all to use.
This information is for those of us who do body swaps and forget to get the Calibration Code off the door jam, we will have a source of information to help us all.
The information that will be needed is for Stock Bronco's only and is this :
A. Year of Bronco ?. (1990...etc.).
B. Model of Bronco ?. (Ann. Edition, Eddie B...etc. or whatever.).
C. Size Motor in Bronco ?. (5.0L or 302cid, 5.8L or 351W or whatever came stock in the Bronco).
D. Size of Injectors in Bronco ?. (19lbs, 24lbs...etc. if you know or can find out would be great).
E. Transmission in Bronco ?. (orginally came with E40D only).
F. T-Case in Bronco ? (BW 1356 or what ?.)
G. Did the Bronco have pushbutton 4X4 & Over Drive ?. (Will have pushbuttons on the dash marked 4X4 & OD).
H. What is the Calibration Code on the Drivers Side Door Jam for this vehicle ?.
