Someone please, I am in dyer need of help, my battery light has been on and I read about it, and most will say its the alternator. But it was in fact not the alt at all, so I cleans the terminals of carrosion and also wires. Light still finds itself popping on, so I got a new battery because it was bout time for a new one anyway also new terminals, the light disappeared .....for a short time, its back on and now at low tons my on dash lights will dim a lil as well as headlights, also makes my radio sound like its gonna go out. Any ideas it seems I\\'ve done all the expensive stuff already

Did you have your alt tested? It may look good without a load but under load it could be failing O'Reilley and Autozone can test it under a load.

Also another thing to check is the ground connections clean them up really good and hit them with some dielectric grease to keep them from corroding.

Finally grab a multi-meter (if you don't have one you can find a serviceable cheap one at Wal-Mart or Harbor Freight) and test the resistance on your positive and negative battery cables. When set to Ohms on your meter touch the two probes together this will give you a baseline 0 resistance measurement, when you test the cables you should be within .5 ohms of that measurement if you are not that means the cable is corroded and may need to be cleaned or replaced.

Great points "curemode2002".

Double check the terminal ports/ends....sometimes the strands of copper wire get corrosion and need to be deeply cleaned to provide a Great contact...
