I have a 2004 Crown Vic -- with a Light Control Module problem. I have access to a used LCM -- that appears to be the same physical size, plug configuration, etc. However, its Part number is:
5W7T13C788AB
I was told it came out of a 2004 Crown Vic.
When I search that part on the Internet -- it seems to relate to the LCM of a 2005 Crown Vic.
Do you know if the two LCM units are interchangeable -- or not?
Could I do any damage in "trying" the replacement unit in the vehicle?
Thanks for any suggestions and advice you can provide

Don't forget that throughout a particular model year the manufacturer may do upgrades and revisions to any and all parts of a vehicle. Depending on the exact date your 2004 was made, it IS possible for it to have a part that was STANDARD on the 2005 models. I have a 1997 CVPI which has parts associated to the 1998 models. Weird, huh?
All I can suggest is to try the LCM and see if it works. If not, go to ebay and have fun!

Many if not all of the LCM's of that generation had the same/similar problems so getting another used one will just "fix" the problem for a time then it too may fail.
What is the problem you are having? |
