For a first car I have recently gotten a 1988 LTD Crown Victoria. I have already added two antennas to the back that are wired to my CB radio. I am going for an old police car look. To really top it off I am trying to find a Push Bar for the front. I have only been able to find ones for the newer Crown Victoria models. Being a High school student in VA I have a very small budget. If anyone has ideas for a push bar my ears are open. Any other suggestions for modifications are also welcome. Thanks!

Welcome to the club. I have a 97 CVPI and even that new it is next to impossible to locate a push bar setup. All I can suggest is to try a cab company that does their own work, or ask at the local police for any ideas. You might also try junk yards or scrap yards. Maybe someone kept a set.

The only other thing I can think of is to try to find pictures on some of the older push-bars and get someone at school to make you a set. Or maybe talk to a welder locally and give him a suggestion of trading your labor for a set. All the are is two pieces of metal going upright with curved tops and bottoms to spring back out, and two tabs to connect them to the front bumper, with some sort of rubber face to prevent scratching. (A couple of strips from an old tire bolted down to the upright will work.)

You may want to go to www.crownvic.net, vicsters.ca, CVPI.org, or pantherfreedom.net, and also search Google for Crown Vic forums. There's several forums where a lot of guys will help you out. Let people know what kind of engine you got and tranny so they can help better.

Lots of luck fixing up the car.
