2002 Crown Victoria automatic AC. A little over a month ago blower quit working. Doing a search I found most of the time when resistor goes out blower will work only on high, mine didn't work at all. I checked blower motor by running hot wire to it and blower is good. I bought a new resistor, installed it and blower worked good as it should. 3 days later it will only work on high. On auto it is higher than on normal ac. On auto or normal ac if I try to lower blower speed any it just quits. Any ideas what is wrong? Since high is faster on auto than on normal does that mean the resistor has 2 speeds working? Something else wrong? |

I just did a general internet search. Since your ac unit is Automatic Temperature Controlled, I am assuming you did get the correct blower resistor. I made that mistake once, by buying the cheaper resistor. It will die and leave you with only one speed. Check to make sure you did get the correct one.
The other thing may be the temperature control may be bad.
I tried to help.

Yep, I did get the one for automatic AC. The one for manual AC looks a lot different and is cheaper. Actually since it blows harder on auto than normal I use auto and when it gets too cold I put on normal and it slows blower some. I can live with that for a while till I decide what to do. Where is that temp control and how to check it out? |

Go checkout www.crownvic.net. There are several articles and writeups about the ATC. My experience is minimal.
