I have a 2000 Crown Vic that was my company car and then i gave it to my Mother. She drove it occasionally and kept it parked under trees for about nine years. I have it back now and it still runs good with 149k miles on it. Being parked under trees for so long caused leaves, bark, and other junk to gather in every crevice in the car especially around the wiper area. Apparently there is water trapped somewhere as I can hear it sloshing around when starting off. It sounds like it's around the firewall. I believe there might be some weep holes that have become clogged with tree junk somewhere. Could anyone provide a suggestion to where to look for the trapped water and how to drain it?
Also, I've just started replacing the intake manifold due to a cracked coolant runner. I've gotten as far as removing the throttle body. Does anyone have any tips to share? The next step is removing the curved bracket from the back of the engine in order to remove the intake. I hear this bracket is a b*tch to get off due to the bolt at the back.
Thanks. |

http://www.autoclinix.com/Manifold.htm i found this article very helpful. i took off the windshild wipers and the black bracket that holds them in . and it makes life easiler. also change the plugs and if your using a dorman intake make sure u clean your heads spotlessly. The water is collecting in the wiper compartment i would take it out. |
