hey guys. New to the site. first time posting. I have a 95 crown Vic lx sedan. it's stoop running on mrall of a sudden. what I know: it's getting gas. it's getting spark and it's not electrical. it's turning but not catching.I'm clueless to what the problem could be. I know the cat is bad but will that stop it from starting? also wasn't too know would a bad charcoal canister make the car not start? |

Www.crownvic.net has a large forum of lots of CV problems. You may want to also check there.
The three major needs for starting a car is 1-gas, 2-spark, and 3-air. IF you are pulling the plugs and they are wet, you are getting fuel. If you check for spark with a ground resistor, you have electrical. The next item is rather if the PCM / ECU is getting the proper signal of timing. Crankshaft positioning sensor and the cam timing sensor are two sensors that send a signal back to the PCM. The IAC and TPS also send signals that need to be interpreted by the PCM.
Have fun troubleshooting. Be sure to get a manual and follow the charts to see if you can find the problem.
