Ok boys. I just got this beauty and can not get the hood to pop open. Pulled the hood lever and it felt like it opened only to notice that in fact it did not release. Back in the day you would just bump the hood problem solved. Feels like its on there pretty tight. Any tricks? Got it from family and have yet to see this beast.

Well now the trick seems to be--curse at it-then let it sit in the hot Mississippi sun and about 2 o'clock central it may open. Then go get wd-40 and have at it.

you may have to use a screw driver to pry it open the some wd40 will probably do the trick
