During the time in question, will the mail be able to arrive to mail.superford.org? e.g. I don't care about being able to read mail, only that people can send it to me.
Consider adding a secure authentication protocol to POP mail and SFO member authentication.

Mail will be queued on our backup mailserver. As soon as the main server is back online, the backup server will gradually send batches of e-mail to the main server. Nothing will be lost.
We will be purchasing an SSL certificate soon and implementing our own shopping cart thus doing away with PayPal processing of memberships. At that point we will evaluate implimenting secure authentication for membership and POP logins.
