96 F150 5.0L Front Tank

Even though the truck ran on this tank when it was bought, it didn't run well, and would sometimes sputter or stall. So the owner had me replace the fuel pump, but the symptom persisted. Eventually, I found that it had so much residue of stale gas varnish in the tank that the new gas was making it flake off to the point that the sock filter was blocked, starving the pump of gas. So I replaced the sock, then scrubbed and vacuumed the tank, and told the owner to keep the tank full and run a few bottles of Berryman's B12 in the next few fillups to dissolve the rest of the residue. It has been running much better since.
