I have a leak in a 1992 Bronco. I think it is coming from the top. The previous owner said that he had the top off last summer. I had a 1995 Bronco that I bought new and it had a leak in the top gasket from the factory. The local Ford dealer subbed it out to a few places to try to fix it. It was never fixed right and Ford bought the car back. Are there any tricks to doing the job right? Seems like a straight forward job. Any info would be appreciated. I am getting this car ready for my son to take to school.

He may have just pinched the gasket when reinstalling the top. Remove all the bolts and raise the top up so you can get a look at the gasket. If it is just pinched, straighten it out and lower the top back down. If it's torn or a chunk missing out of it, it's probably better to replace it.

You should have your son (or somebody) help out because the topper is a little on the heavy side and hard to maneuver all by yourself. If I remember correctly, the "gasket" is a piece of weather stripping that is easily pinched if you reinstall the topper without being careful. It should be an easy fix!
