I have a leak in a 1992 Bronco. I think it is coming from the top. The previous owner said that he had the top off last summer. I had a 1995 Bronco that I bought new and it had a leak in the top gasket from the factory. The local Ford dealer subbed it out to a few places to try to fix it. It was never fixed right and Ford bought the car back. Are there any tricks to doing the job right? Seems like a straight forward job. Any info would be appreciated. I am getting this car ready for my son to take to school. |

He may have just pinched the gasket when reinstalling the top. Remove all the bolts and raise the top up so you can get a look at the gasket. If it is just pinched, straighten it out and lower the top back down. If it's torn or a chunk missing out of it, it's probably better to replace it.

You should have your son (or somebody) help out because the topper is a little on the heavy side and hard to maneuver all by yourself. If I remember correctly, the "gasket" is a piece of weather stripping that is easily pinched if you reinstall the topper without being careful. It should be an easy fix!
