Wading car before driving , you must carefully check the water depth , flow rate and bottom as well as into and out of the waters of the width and road conditions , and thus to determine whether it can safely pass. If the depth exceeds the maximum wading depth wheel or car , you should not risk wading , in fact , as long as the water level reaches two-thirds of the front bumper or tire , and then there are some wading dangerous driving .
Confirming his own car driving through , the general should choose the shortest distance , the water level of the most shallow, slow water flow and bottom sections of the most solid . If you want to pass through the deep water , please make the following preparations.
With tarpaulin or plastic bag distributor, high voltage ignition coil wrap, and managed to increase the position of the battery ( such as the cockpit or cabin on ) . On the tank filler neck , dipstick hole and the engine , the other drive axle vent should be wrapped with waterproof material clogging . If the water level close to the maximum wading depth of the car, should be bundled on board a wide front bumper , and then use low gear driving, the car in front of the water being pushed wood, forming a shallow parts in the engine area , to prevent ignition system is soaked in water and loss of function . When possible , try to increase the weight of the car to reduce the buoyancy of water and the increase of vehicle wheel adhesion.http://blogs.rediff.com/uobd222/2013/11/29/the-use-method-of-car-transponder-keys/

I have found that crossing any distance of water is directly proportionate to the mph. If you go 50 mph then you can cross 50 feet of water, 100 mph can make it through100 feet of water. I usually try to go at least 100 mph or more, that way I do not have to rely on my calculations so much.
