ok I have a 1993 ford bronco 4x4 with E4OD transmission. when put into drive it will not go into lower gears. also the speedometer does not work which I believe must be the same issue.
when I bought the bronco it already had this problem.
Here is what I have done to try and fix this Not in this order
1.Replaced the Speed Sensor 3 times(just to make sure the part was good)
2.Checked continuity through every wire in the transmission harness
3.Replaced Transmission and Torque Converter
4.Transmission oil and Filter
5.Replace the plug on the speed sensor
6.spun the wheels while checking speed sensor with volt meter and checked good
7.Replaced Neutral Safety Switch twice
8.Replaced Throttle position Sensor
9.New Engine wiring harness and fuse box
10.Replaced the Computer or ECU twice
11.New Instrument Cluster
12.Checked the tone Ring in the rear Differential
13.Checked Continuity of speed sensor wires from rear diff to firewall plug
14. replaced all fuses
15.All lights replaced front and back and all work
16 checked and repaired all vacuum hoses
17. taken everything apart checking for pinched wires. none found
it has no power seats or windows except the back window ofcourse which works fine.
it is electronic speedometer no cable
if someone can figure this out you are the man
I have a friend that owns a transmission shop and one that owns a mechanic shop and they both have no answers for me.
Also can someone tell me what wires in the plug going into the instrument cluster work the speedometer so I can check those?
any help would be great

thanks
Brian

What speed sensor did you replace or have? One is located on rear differential, and some broncos depending on year and model have one on the transmission.
