The blower control module in my '03 Crown Vic Sport, equipped with automatic climate, has failed. I viewed a few videos on YouTube for replacement procedures. I saw more than one style of module.
I purchased one from Car Quest, model # RU1265. Did I purchase the right one ?
Also the EATC module has a problem. MOST of the air comes from the dash vents, yet I hear things moving from under the dash when selecting different modes. The module was replaced about 6 years ago with one from Ford. Is this a common problem, or is it possible that a blend door has seized, possibly from cigarette smoke ? The modules are quite spendy.

I have a 03 LX. I've had to replace the resistor once and the blower fan twice. I also had the climate control module "repaired" by a guy I found on Ebay for about $75. The blend door works off of vacuum and is controlled by the module. Mine was stuck on defrost for a while. Once it was repaired, it has worked great every since. This is a common problem that I have heard of. |
