SO I HAVE A 2008 CROWN VIC PI THAT I BOUGHT ON A GREAT DEAL. THE CAR COST ME $300 AT AUCTION FROM THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. OVERALL CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE IS IMMACULATE. IT HAS 76,000 MILES ON ODOMETER AND ITS AT 4,165 IDLE HOURS. WHICH AINT TO BAD.
WELL THE CAR HAS A PRETTY ROUGH IDLE AFTER IT HAS BEEN STARTED, ALMOST LIKE A MISS FIRE. THE IDLE WILL THEN BOGG DOWN TO ABOUT 500 RPM AND THEN COME BACK UP. I WENT AND ORDERED SOME NEW SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS FROM ROCK AUTO. I M HOPING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE WITH A TUNE UP, AND I AM ORDERING A NEW TIMING SET WITH GUIDES, CHAINS, SPROCKETS AND TENSIONERS.
DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS WHERE I MIGHT GO FROM THERE.
NO ON TO THE TRANS ISSUE/ YES I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE PRICE AND DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE TRANS ISSUE UNTIL I GOT HER STARTED. I CAN SHIFT AND DRIVE IN REVERSE, HAS ANYONE ON THIS SITE HAD THE SAME ISSUE, I BELIEVE ITS A SNAP RING AND WHAT THEY CALL THE DRUM IN THE TRANS THAT WENT OUT, I HAVE READ THAT IT CAN GET A CRACK AND CAUSE THE TRANS NOT TO RESPOND TO THE SHIFT. ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHAT COULD BE A REMEDY?
ANY INFO WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!!! |
