Hello everyone, my name is Ed. I was directed to this forum by a friend who said that I could get some good advice from here. I am not on any forums so I hope you don't mind me asking for your opinion, advice and knowledge. I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have a small automotive shop here in Delaware. I had a buddy who does all my transmission work drop off a car for me to look at for him.
The car is question is a 2008 Ford Crown Vic. My buddy got the car from one of his customers that just bought the car and wanted to have the transmission rebuilt.
The car runs great, shifts from 1st to 2nd find but when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it acts like it shifts into neutral. Reverse works fine. When you push the O/D button nothing happens.
My transmission guy scanned it and there where no codes. He took the transmission apart to rebuild it but said he saw nothing wrong. He put it back together with new fluid and filter. But the car is doing the same thing.
He brings the car to me. I first scan it and there are no codes, but my scanner has a option to check Ford specific. When I checked that I got code P0960. Instead of just changing parts. I'd really appreciate anyone's knowledge advice or opinion on this situation of mine. I believe it to be the pressure control solenoid. I'm just not familiar with a repair like this and I don't have an issue asking for some help.
I greatly apologize if this is an easy one or should be. I just really care about and appreciate my customers and sometimes I over think things if I'm just not sure.
Thank you so much for your time and help. I greatly appreciate it.
