I have a complete carpet and mat set coming for my '93 Bronco XLT, and would like to lay down some sort of economical sound/vibration damping material while I have the interior stripped. Any experience with laying carpet underlay ? Brushing liquid bed liner ? Dynamat for a complete interior is just too expensive............Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ............

There are other "Dynamat type" materials out there. I did this back in 1996 when my Bronco was new. I put the material everywhere I could. I used a propane torch very carefully to heat the material, the directions said to use a heat gun. The material HAS to make contact with the metal to be effective. No bridging of material. Then I used regular carpet padding in addition to the auto padding. I used the cloth type pad, NOT the "rebond foam type" carpet pad. It made the care as quiet as it could be. I even put the dynamat stuff on the inside of the door panels. When I close the door, it makes a dead thump, like my BMW did. There is a new type of material out there now that is thinner and does not require heating to put on. And is easier to work with I am told by the car stereo guy.
