I have a C-6 auto tranny that came out of a 78 Bronco with a 351M and was wondering if it would fit a 302V-8. I have heard that they made two versions of the C-6 transmission, one for big blocks and one for small blocks, any info will be greatly appreciatated. I am also wondering if the transmission in ? can accept a 2wd tailshaft.

Not sure about the 2wd tailshaft , But the 302 is not the same as a 351m block .
If it came from a 351w it would definatly fit.

94 Bronco , 351 W , 18" Lift , 46" Tires , 6-12" Subs , Too much more

The 351M has a big block bellhousing, you'll have to look for another C6. Tranny shops can swap the tailshafts but i don't know if you'll need to find a donor tranny or if they can order the parts. If i lived near ya i'd buy it off ya)

Yep. That bellhousing fits the big blocks. Pass up the einie weinie 302 and bolt up a 460 to it! I have the same tranny with a NP208 bolted to it from an 81 Bronco. If anyone knows someone in need of the tranny let me know. I want to sell it for $300 without the T Case. I want to keep the Tcase as a spare but I guess if the price is right...

Hi, I'm Norm and I'm a Broncoholic

You are right about this, Small Case and a Big Case.

Small Case was for 302 (5.0L) or the 351W, the other was for Big Blocks.

You can take the guts out of a Big Case and put them into the Small Case = Beef it up.
