I am contemplating purchasing the Explorer. My decision is not firm, I am consdering Dodge Durango, and GMC Enyoy. I think I am swaying toward the Explorer though.

Hello, Honestly do not touch the GMC Envoy!!!! I have had one for two years, and it has had one front axel, one rear cv joint, HID Assembly, rear third brake light, the drivers side molding fell off, the front fog lights wobbled loose and had almost fallen out along with the second gear band started to slip with only 25,000 miles and had to be replaced. Dodge well honetly I have had no experience owning one but from what one of my clients has had to say it has been ok other than fit and finish quality where things are rattling and creaking. It is a Durrango SLT+, his only has 15,000 miles or so. But they are redoing the whole look of the truck for the 2004 model year as a whole new look!!!
I have had a Explorer Eddie Bauier with the 4.0L SOCH V6 and I swear I am kicking myself for ever switching to the GMC, I honestly never had one problem with the truck and I beat it hard when I leased it for the two years. I put on 100,000 miles and never hd one problem I really loved it, If I do not get a Excursion then I will be looking very hard again myself at the Explorer!! |

94' Sport here, haven't had it to long yet. Just ordered new manual hubs and RA bushings for it. I have put 31" mudders on too. Plan on lifting it 6" and doing an engine and tranny swap also. |
