I just purchased a 91 ford explorer eddie bauer edition with the electronic shift 4wd, and i cannot get it to shift into lowrange, normal range 4wd works, but it didnt at first because the previous owner did not use it often. i was wondering if anyone knows anything about the electric shifting and if they could help me out so I can get the low range working. I think the problem may be that the solinoid is froze up, and if anyone had anyideas of how to unfreeze it that would be awesome. thanks

Just to make sure...you're putting the transmission into "Neutral" when trying to shift to low-range, right? If not, this would explain why low-range isn't working. Usually, if it shifts into 4x4-hi, low-range will also work flawlessly, provided you are stopped and have the vehicle in neutral.
