I am planning to add water injection to my Excusion and would like some input - I have seen kits that flow 3.9+ GPH and others that are closer to the .25 GPH range.......... anyone with experience with this and what flow rate is recommended for a truck with no internal modifications. I have propane and a chip, but no head or low end mods - I DO have a larger (no-name) exhaust............ thoughts?? any help is appreciated!

Personally I'd like to know what or how water injection would be used for on a Powerstroke Diesel as I've never seen it discussed here before

Is it for mileage,performance,etc?

Uhhh.............yes - both, I think - more for the power than the mileage - I'm not even sure the mileage difference could be measured since it is not injected long term.......... the performance is something different. I don't have personal experience though.........go here for a brief intro...........

This place sells kits that may be of interest to you:

Sorry, I know nothing else on the subject except for what's on the snow performance website.

Thanks for the link

Something I always ask when modifying Powerstroke Diesels is what are they trying to accomplish, more power for towing, overall performance,MPG's,etc

Have you done the CCV and IAH mods yet?

I know first hand that bumping the fuel pressure greatly enhances performance,MPG and lowers engine noise

Do those three and you'll have more SOP feel

.......... uhhh......... I have not done them yet........ too lazy and not enough time......... and too cheap to pay someone to do them for me - I seem to have time to bolt some things on, but not actually 'work' on anything - but I do agree.......... need to do them......... in my spare time

I'm off in left field on another tangent - related to water, but not strictly WATER injection. I have purchased the Snow Performance water injection kit, but have gotten my hands on plans to build a hydrogen generator that will replace my propane with water/hydrogen........ propane is too expensive as a supplemental fuel and water seems to have minimal benefits compared to the 'new' technology.
