Hi I am a newby. I need help, everyone including my mechanic is trying to get me to buy a new, smaller car. I have a 93 crown vic that I love, it has less then 26,000 original miles and I know because I am the original owner. I have put less then 2500.00 in the car on general repairs; it has a few problems such as water in the trunk and the rear passenger footwell but other that I am quite happy with my car, also it needs a paint job as the paint is flaking off, other than that it is a great car that is paid for. Thanks for any advice you can give. |

ok... water in the trunk, one question, do you have a trunk lid liner? the water in your trunk is condensation from the seal that goes around your trunk lid, if you have no trunk lid liner (sometimes called a trunk lid blanket) then the water is being held inside the trunk. there is one cure for water in the trunk, its something my dad did with his Mark V, he drilled small holes in the sides of his trunk, at the lowest point in the floor (in the saddle area which is the space where you can feel the arching of the wheel wells) and since then his trunk is dry. if your getting water in your trunk check for mold.
I would fix whats wrong and keep it. any vehicle who still has its original owner is worth $$ so fix whats wrong and enjoy your car!!

Charlie thank you for the advice, sorry I am so late with this but I haven't been on line for a few weeks. I will have someone look at it because I am not sure what a trunk liner looks like, so will get someone to check it, I would like to get the car painted do you have any suggestions. Thanking you in advance. |
