I went to Autozone and got a $250 new A/C Compressor with 3 month warranty. After install I went to put freon in with a few cans. It seemed not to take it. I noticed that the clutch would not in gauge, so I thought maybe that's why. I thought maybe I got a bad one. Then someone who has a Crown Vic told me it probably isn't turning on b/c I have to go to a shop and have them use there machine to drain all air out then fill it that way. Is that true or do you all think I got a bad compressor and I should get a new one?

Anytime you open up the system of the A/C, you need to vacuum out the air to give room for the freon to enter. Also, if you left the system open for more than a few minutes, you probably will have to replace the evaporator as well to get all the moisture out.
