Any idea how the sliding linkage rod, that has the Commutateur Interruptor Switch pin hole, works? What may cause it not to travel fully back and forth? It will not even go all the way back with the ignition switch fully removed from the steering column.

Did I mention I need to put the ignition fuse and the battery cable to shut it off? I know sweet! This is a 96 p71
