I am trying to fix Moms car, the problem is fuel related I think..
A) 100% of the time there is only half power, the car bogs and stutters with anything past half throttle about 3000 to 4000 rpm it acts like it is hitting a rev limiter or governor. No check engine light.
B) Occasionally, the car will just die, not shut off but will slow to a crawl, will not accelerate past idle. When it's in that condition, if I put a fuel pressure gage on the rail, it shows only 20 LBS of pressure @ idle, drops to 16 when the throttle is blipped (engine revved)

flashes shown in the self test
A) KOEO (4 quick flashes then all regular flashes) (4 quick ) then 1 2 2 3 3 5 then 1 2 2 3 2 6 then 1 1 2 2 3 2 6 1 2 2 3 (not sure if or when it is repeating, not sure if I read it wrong the first time)
B) (Engine running) 3 2 6 5 3 6 6 3 2 3 2 6 5 3 6 6 3 2
C) (engine running throttle blip) 9 9

Changed the maf and tps, no change in trouble with wot.. Car has not done the other thing in over a week of daily driving..

Also noticed 2 hairline cracks in the line between the exhaust and the EGR. There is some exhaust soot around the cracks. Would a defect or problem with EGR cause such a dramatic drop in fuel pressure and or the trouble with wot? Or is the fuel pump on its last leg?

No pinging BTW..

Any info would be greatly appreciated..

Have you checked fuel filter and tried a new gas cap?

I had changed the fuel filter the old one which was spilling sludge when I removed it was replaced, but I just picked up another one which I will swap in. The gas cap hasn't been changed but seems to be functioning fine. When it is turned counter clockwise it lets out a long hiss. Not sure if that means anything.

After I swapped in a new MAF and TPS I disconnected the negative from battery for 15 mins and I came up with this.

KOEO First time it gave me.

3 3 5 (short pause) 3 3 5 then long pause (not sure if it's 335 335 or 33 53 35)
5 1 2 ( short pause) 5 1 2 (short pause) ( 51 25 12?)

then a series of 1's each single flash was longer than the others
1 1 1 (short pause) 1 1 1.

Second time I tried KOEO it gave me only 3 3 5 (sp) 3 3 5 followed by
1 (p) 1 1 1 1 1 1 (long single flashes)

Then with engine running it gave me
3 2 6 (s p) 5 3 6 (sp) 6 3 2. ( 32 65 36?)

It seems to be running a lot stronger since I swapped MAF TPS then reset computer but it's still not 100%.. Same codes with engine running but the codes for KOEO have been changed. What next?

How do I reset?

In case anyone is wondering, I mustered the gumption to pull the fuel pump today. Half a tank of gas but I went for it.. The original 18 YO fuel pump was in a sorry state when I pulled it, the strainer had a layer of sludge on it about 1/8" thick. There were cracks in the actual sludge that were allowing fuel to pass.

I swapped in a new pump, now the car sounds like every cop car that has ever tried to give chase when out on my CBR1000.. Problem solved, Mom should rack up some speeding tickets now..

BTW, thanks for the help...
